Acquisition of Blackbushe Aviation
On Friday 28th February 2025, the parent company of Blackbushe Airport, Blinkbushe Limited completed the acquisition of Blueplane Limited (trading as Blackbushe Aviation).
As a CAA Approved Training Organisation (ATO), the flying school offers all levels of pilot training including Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence, IR and other advanced training.
The new owners are excited to build on the success and excellent reputation that has been built by Steve and Alison Morley over the last 12 years. The flying school will continue to operate independently from Blackbushe Airport Limited. There will be no immediate changes to the operation with obligations to customers and suppliers remaining unaffected. Steve and Alison will be working with the new owners throughout a transition period of 6-12 months.
Directors of Blackbushe Airport Limited, Chris Gazzard and Rebecca Cornthwaite will become the Directors of Blueplane Limited and will oversee the operation.
Steve and Alison Morley said:
‘We are very fortunate to have worked with such a fabulous group of staff and instructors and are delighted to have helped hundreds of students achieve their dream of learning to fly. We are particularly proud of the large number of ex-students who are now working for the airlines and in other aspects of the aviation sector. We look forward to seeing the school continue to thrive under its new management and to use some of our semi-retirement for pleasure flying!’
The acquisition fits into the longer-term Vision for the Airport as a General Aviation centre of excellence, supporting a wide range of activities. The full vision for the future is available at www.blackbusheairport.co.uk/vision. Bringing Blackbushe Aviation under the Blinkbushe umbrella ensures the ambitions of the airport and general aviation remain aligned.
We very much look forward to welcoming the Blackbushe Aviation staff, instructors and customers into the wider airport family which includes the airport tower and fire departments along with the Pathfinder Café.
